I recently made it a rule not to comment to much on my blog posts. Not because of my writing skills or because there is nothing to say. But I truly believe if you are on my website {or any photographers website for that matter} you are there really for one thing…to see the images! I dont think you are on my blog to read my writings no matter how eloquent or well thought out or truthfully lovely words of wisdom so beautifully wrapped together in black type with white backing may sound….. :-) but…..
Jamie has been shooting with me for a few years and many of you XBRIDES of mine have been surrounded by her love on your day. This day was her turn and I was more than proud to be asked to photograph her memories of marrying the man she loves, Ryan.
I thought it would be great instead of me telling her story if she tells it. So from the type of Jamie:
“It was perfection. We wanted our wedding to be really personal and involve the people who were attending. We wanted a small wedding to enjoy our near and dear family and friends. Our wedding took place at my parents lake home. The details that were especially meaningful and important to me were the arbor that was made by my wonderful groom, all the homemade pies my mother baked, all the mismatch china borrowed from the guests that attended the wedding, my mother’s veil and my parent’s unity candle, the grooms great grand fathers 48 chevy and my parent’s “just married” sign they used at their wedding. Dee and her staff from Element of Elegance pulled all the details together on our day and did a fabulous job with the flowers. My uncle’s blues band, “Seventh Son” was our entertainment which was so fun and involved our older guests.

I think that’s about it. I loved our wedding. Thanks for capturing it. I have a lot of photos on the wall and an album of course.”

Melissa & Todd were married at Snow Moon Ranch over the summer. A lovely setting for a Northern Michigan Wedding. Melissa’s vision was carried out by one of the best wedding planners in Michigan, Kris from Merry Makers was terrific! Snow Moon Ranch is a perfect place for the backdrop of any wedding pictures. Complete hospitality to the finest. Plus an Alpaca farm to boot! They did the most incredible thing, before the wedding as the guests were arriving they poured their own specialty drinks for each passerby. What a way to welcome your guests to your wedding!

Its January in Michigan and that typically involves snowy slushy roads, blizzards and terms on the evening news forecast like wind chill and snow advisories. But on their wedding date Jacklyn and Adam brought us good luck with the driving temperatures and even the possibility of taking a wedding party outdoors here in Grand Rapids.
As usual the Public Museum of Grand Rapids was a magnificent setting for the out of town guests, the local friends and family and the bridal party. Her Disney themed wedding was a smash. Their party rocked and of course the wedding pictures on the carousel were absolutely a blast!
Abby and I had a great day photographing and documenting for you both! We hope you enjoy

Sara & Craig were married at Bridge Street Wedding Chapel in Grand Ledge, a fantastic place to get married in. All the details are terrific. The owners are photographers and put the thought into what furniture and details may be in the background of the photographs. After the wedding we made a pit stop to see Sparty on the campus of Michigan State University. What Spartan would not want to see Sparty on wedding day? The reception was at Eagle Eye in Bath Michigan. Thanks Sara & Craig, Abby and I had such a blast with you all!
